What a day!

This morning started as my alarm went off, set on a daily alarm for the same time I had to be up yesterday. I quickly dismissed it and rolled over to go back to sleep. Sadly, it woke Michael up. I got him a bottle and he drank it quietly for a little while, but after that he was ready to get up. So, I got out of bed and Michael and I went into the living room while Mike slept in on his last day off for a week.

I finished reading my book Belly Laughs, while Michael played. Michael climbed up into a chair that we have in the living room and was dancing on it. He completely ignored my instructions to get down and that he wasn't allowed up there. When he almost tipped it over while he was on it I got up and gave him a swift pat to the bum telling him, "No." Sadly, giving Michael "spankings" is the only way I have been able to actually get across the word no, otherwise he thinks it is a grand game and will laugh. I will tell him no, I will explain why, I will even try to remove him from the situation and continue from there, but there are some things that are just too great to be forgotten and dancing on the chair almost tipping it over is one of them. I didn't spank him hard enough to hurt, but he didn't like that I did it and fussed. I removed him from the chair while sternly letting him know he could have hurt himself very badly. Apparently Mike had woke up not long before that and came out to see why Michael was upset. He came and gave Michael lots of cuddles and play time.

After a good while, I decided I was interested in some adult play time, and luckily for me, it was about Michael's first nap time. So, I got him a fresh bottle and plopped him in his crib where he gladly laid down. It was great to have some Mike and Ash time, as that very rarely happens. We even took a nice relaxing shower, because Michael was sound asleep.

At some point today I went to check the time on Mike's cell phone which was near the kitchen and saw a text message from Eric. I started to read it so I could tell Mike what it said, but it started out saying that he  was going to be a father of a... so I ran the phone over to Mike and told him he had a message! He asked what it said, and I told him to read it. I read it when he opened it too. Bry and Eric are having a little girl! (Not that anyone believed it would be a boy! ;P  )

Mike had planed on working on his 3D modeling all day today and sat down at his computer to start working. He booted his computer just to find that it wouldn't boot. His fans weren't working, and he could get the computer going, but it would be a very bad idea to do so without his fans, so we went to Radio Shack. He picked up two fans while Michael and I stayed in the car. I had drove him there, but while waiting I realized I felt really really bad, so I got out and waited in the passenger seat. He came out and saw me there, so he got in the drivers seat. I told him I didn't feel good and he understood. We started home and I told him I really wasn't doing good. He asked if I need him to pull over to get some fast food in me. I told him no, but then I really took a turn for the worse. I started to tell him that he should go to a fast food restaurant, but changed my mind. I said, "You need to pull over!" Mind you there was a lane full of cars between us and the curbside. Mike put the blinker on, and finally cut someone off (He said he would have been pissed if he was in the car behind us) and pulled over to the curb. I opened the door and immediately spewed all over the grass. I heaved and coughed and had a horrible little time.  Some man passed by on the sidewalk and I guess gave Mike quite a look. I mean can you imagine?

Here I am, on my hands and knees over the side of the curb puking into the grass. My door is wide open because I barely made it out of the car, and Mike is in the bike lane with the car still running with his blinker/hazards on. I really don't know what he had on. It was around 3pm I believe. Either this man was wondering what the hell Mike gave me, or why on Earth he had let me drink so much at such an early time. Either way I'm sure he thought Mike was very irresponsible. Thank goodness Mike was driving though because I don't know what I would have done! Also, if he hadn't of cut that person off I would have lost it all over myself and my car. Eew.  After I got up, I told Mike that we needed to stop somewhere to get something. He asked where and I decided on KFC. Their mashed potatoes and gravy sounded wonderful. A crazy (legal) U-turn later and we were there. The Sierra Mist helped out a bit and the mashed potatoes and gravy were wonderful. Finally we were once again on our way home.

We got home and I went into the bedroom to nap, while Michael once again napped in his crib while Mike installed his new fans. Not long after I had been laying down Mike called out to me to tell me his computer was broken. It was physically broken. That got me out of bed. I came into the computer room to see what was wrong and he showed me where he had accidentally pulled on a snagged wire that broke a piece of his hard drive. He was devastated. All of his work was on this hard drive and he couldn't get his computer to turn on and read it. I looked up hard drives online and offered to order one for him. He said he'd rather drive to Fry's because if we ordered it it wouldn't be here until next week. He managed to rig his hard drive up long enough that it would work for him to back up his files onto my external hard drive and we were off to Fry's. Poor Michael wasn't done with his nap and he napped the whole way there. It was cute when we got there though, because as soon as Mike started getting him out of the car he woke up ready to go, curious as ever. He immediately started pointing and asking "What's that?" "What is that?" about everything. It was like he had never even been asleep.

We went in and looked at the hard drives and found the one we had wanted, but it was an opened item, so we had to look around some more. We finally found one we agreed on for him and were about to go, when I decided I wanted to look at carpet cleaners. We had got our vacuum cleaner here last time, and now we needed a carpet cleaner. Our once fairly new beige/tan carpet in our living room was horrifically dirty. We have stains form where Michael has rubbed a piece of banana into the carpet before we could get to it and who knows what else this little boy has got into the carpet, but it was a mess. Oh, he also likes to paint with his bottle, which I assume takes some of the blame. He'll hold his bottle upside down and let it drip. If there is enough milk on the floor for him to see, he will then play connect the milk dots with the nipple of his bottle. If I catch him in time I stop him by getting him onto a new game, or sometimes a simple stern "No" will do as well. Anyway, we bought a carpet cleaner and I spent much more money today than I was ever going to (I wasn't going to leave the house today so I wasn't going to spend anything), but it was well worth it. Still standing next to the carpet cleaners I started to feel bad again so I told Mike we needed to go. We bought our items and went out to the car. I let Mike know he was driving home (his first long trip on the freeway where he got to drive) because I felt horrible. What a life saver it is having Mike drive!

We got home, ate a little and hung out. I don't really remember what we did exactly but it was just hanging out. (TV, playing with Michael, computers you know.) Mike's computer wasn't finished backing up yet either. He ended up cleaning a small portion of our carpet and what a difference it has made! The water in the cleaner was black and disgusting. It will take a good while to clean the whole living room and we will have to fight some tough stains as well, but I am glad we got this. We need it.

Oh, I also had a headache almost the whole day and just recently took Tylenol for it after Mike got after me for not taking anything yet. My head is finally starting to feel better.

Glucose Tolerance Test? No Thanks!

Seriously, if I didn't have to take this, I wouldn't.

So this morning I woke up to my phone's alarm at 8:40 am. I had to be at the Lab at 9:40 am for my appointment. I was really tired though, so I lounged in bed for a good 20 minutes before getting up. I used the restroom then flopped back into bed and told Mikey to wake up. That it was already 9. He got up, and I got back up and we got ready. Michael also woke up and was laying down talking to himself until I peaked over the edge of the pack n play. (Yes, he got a new crib for his birthday, and no I haven't got it put up yet because of how sick I've been and Mikey has been working... except for today) Once we were all out in the living room, I realized that it was getting late, it was already 9:25 and we needed to go. Mike was putting on his shoes and I had other things to do. We finally got out the door with our DS's and to the car. Mikey was putting Michael in his carseat when I realized I didn't have my lab papers with me, so I had to run back up the stairs to go grab them.

We got to Quest Diagnostics right at 9:41 and I signed in. I gave the lady behind the counter my papers telling her that I had an appointment for a GTT. She took the papers and handed them back telling me that West Lab is where my lab papers were for and I needed to go across the street. I was a bit upset because the OB/GYN said that I could go to Quest Diagnostics (Silly me, I hadn't realized the name of the lab was right there in big letters on the top of the paper when I was scouring it for an address) if I wanted to. We left and went across the street to see if we could just walk in since this is one of the few days Mikey has off and I needed to get these done before it was too late. Actually I was supposed to have them done before my last appointment, but it hadn't happened.

So after finding West Lab, we went in and I signed in. There wasn't really any room to sit as it was a small waiting room and fairly full. There were a couple seats, but the only 2 seats open together were in a corner with no room for our little stroller that Michael was in. So, we stood there against the wall, me in the corner next to the desk. For this GTT test, I had to fast, which is why they suggest you go in for a morning appointment, it's much easier to fast for 10 hours when you are asleep. It's around 10:15 am now and I'm really feeling the effects of not eating. The longer I stood the worse I felt, my head started feeling really hot and sweaty, then it started feeling light and dizzy and my stomach was doing loops. I finally managed to mutter that I needed to sit down or I was going to pass out. Luckily, 3 people had just got up so Mike helped me over because I made sure he knew I needed help if I was going to make it. I think someone close by asked if I wanted their seat, but I wasn't really sure and I had no energy to move let alone acknowledge them. So dear person where ever you are, if you did offer you seat Thank you. I really mean it, and I'm sorry if I was an ass by not responding, but I really couldn't. I'm not even sure if someone did say anything either. I finally sat down and the lady at the counter came back. (I later found out she was the only one in the building this morning) Mikey went up and let her know that I was there for the GTT rather than waiting for her to call my name since we were going to be there for an hour anyways. She took care of the paper work and let Mikey fill some of it out for me, then handed him the dreaded drink. It was Orange flavored. I felt better knowing that it wasn't the horrid Lemon-Lime and settled in for a horrible experience.

While the drink didn't taste nearly as bad as the Lemon-Lime one did, it was still bad. I could only take little tiny sips of it at first, and then I told myself I could do it and I went for it. I took bigger sips and started drinking it. After about three or four swallows I had to stop. There was no way I could do this without being sick. In fact I almost lost it at that point. So, I was back to little tiny sips. One lady, who I think might have been doing the same thing as I was told me that it was easiest just to down it quickly. I appreciated her help, but sadly I couldn't do it. This drink is supposed to be drank in 5 minutes. It took me almost 15 minutes to get it all down. I finally went up and my hour was started at 10:26 am.

Next, she needed a urine sample from me. She had given me the cup at the same time as the drink so I already had it with me. I got up and went to the restroom to get the urine sample, but I couldn't breather either so I blew my nose, then stopped. My stomach was flip flopping from the GTT drink. I lurched over the toilet hoping with everything that was in me that I would not throw up, and luckily I didn't. I got the sample and dropped it on her desk (in a bag that I had put it in!), then sat back down.

Still being sick, I had to get  up a couple of times to blow my nose, and once or twice I coughed up phlegm and had to make a quick jot to the bathroom in order not to lose the drink. I finally started to feel a tad better, and Michael was behaving well. By this time he was sitting/standing on a chair in between Mike and I and the waiting room was empty. Then, people came in again and it got full of people with kids running back and forth around the waiting room and behind the counter. The lady working there got them all done fast, and there was a line of two new patients waiting to sign in. She signed one in, then called me back to sit in the big chair with arm rests with one that comes down in front of you. I sat down and waited for her to come back. She did and she got me all ready to stick. I looked away, because while I can now handle shots, prior to last pregnancy I would almost pass out from them, I still can't watch or look at the blood afterward.

So I waited for her to stick me, and then realized that tiny little poke was it. The needle was in and she was drawing blood. I let her know that that was the most painless sticking I've ever had, and that a lot of people tell me I'm a hard stick and sometimes have to stick me multiple times before they can get a vein. She seemed astonished. Then we heard a ladies voice coming from the other room and Mike's voice in response. I believe she was commenting on how Michael must have a dirty diaper because he was fidgeting so much. Or something to that effect. The lady helping me shook her head and said she hated when other people tried to tell you how to raise your children. Poor Michael had been extremely good the entire hour we were there, no running around (we kept him up on the chair after getting him out of his stroller), no yelling or being loud, just good and cute. Of course he wanted to run around and play.  Well, the lady finished drawing the blood, and was writing on the vials. She then showed them to me to make sure my name was spelled correctly on every one. I tried to count them while she showed them to me and I believe there were 9 total. There might have been 10, but I'm pretty sure there were only 9, and I know that there wasn't less. Oh my gosh, 9 vials of blood seemed like a lot to me. Especially when I'm used to only getting 3 drawn. I guess before I came out they were talking about how much Michael looked like Mike, and she said that little boys usually look more like their mothers. I don't know what Mike said, but I guess he must have said that he did look like me too. I came out and the lady was like "Oh yes! I see it!" I smiled and asked what they were talking about, and found out they were talking about who he looked like.

We soon left and I wobbled out to the car. Mike put Michael in the car and I sat in the passenger seat. Thank goodness Mike has his permit now. I don't know what I would've done if I had to drive. As we started towards home we talked about getting something to eat. I finally decided that I wanted Chinese food and we headed over to a place called Dragon House to try it out. We each ordered a lunch and then ordered a side of Almond Chicken. My main entree was Beef and Broccoli, and Mike's was Chicken Lo Mein. Excited, I put some food on my plate and went to take a bite. I couldn't taste it and now the smell of the Chinese food, which didn't have a good or bad smell... just a weird smell was in my stuffed up nose. All I could smell was weird Chinese food and the sick smell of my stuffed up nose that I've been able to smell for days. The food, made me sick. I didn't get physically sick, but I almost did. I almost got sick every couple of bites in fact. I finally tried some of Mikes Lo Mein and some of our side of Fried Rice that came with lunch. I could eat the fried rice and a little bit of the lo mein, but I was burping up orange GTT drink every couple of minutes. I felt awful, couldn't taste, and couldn't eat. I drank a little bit of water, but even that didn't want to settle right. Neither did the coke I ordered. So after another trip to the restroom to clear my sinuses as best as I was able to, we left.

With Mike and I being such nerds, and having Pokemon with us, we went across the street to Toys R Us to get an exclusive random egg. We got the eggs, then told Michael we would let him look at toys. So, look at toys we did. We walked down a Nerf isle, that actually Mike and Michael went down while I was still saving my game. I told him that he couldn't have them yet because he would most likely just eat the darts and I really didn't want to clean up nerf dart pieces everywhere and out of his diaper. So we continued on, I turned down the little guys lego isle and found a cute pull along pirate lego ship. Michael loved it, but Mike suggested we go look at the dinosaurs. Michael wasn't happy when we walked away without the ship, but he was okay by the time we got to the dinosaur toys. Michael has all of the ones they had except for the triceratops. So we put that one in the basket and I moved Mike on down more towards the little kiddie toys. We walked along a wall and I saw the Handy Manny Toolbox that sings and dances. I wanted to get this for Michael a while ago, but it said it was for kids 3+. One of my Mommy friends online has it for her son who is only a month older than Michael (I think half a month really). Her son loves it and I sometimes watch Handy Manny with Michael in the mornings, not that he actually watches it yet.  So I grabbed it and stuck it in front of him and pressed the button. The tools started jumping up and down singing a song and Michael's face lit up. That was it, he was in love, and I was in love with his smile. Even Mike knew that it was going home with us.

We started to leave, but I had to rush to the restroom. My pregnant bum wasn't as backed up as I thought it was and I had to go right then and there. I rushed to the restroom while Mike went on his merry way. On the way though I saw some racks of clothes that said "Buy one get one free." I used the restroom and walked back over to the clothes racks and found 2 pair of shorts for Michael. One was $5 and the other $6, so I grabbed them both and now he has a new pair of khaki shorts and a new pair of jean shorts.

We left and came home. We checked the mail and I got some more RSVPs for the wedding and Mike got some parts he ordered for his XB360. We went inside and Mike laid Michael down in his crib and I crashed into bed. I napped for a good while on and off as Mike kept coming in and asking me questions, until finally he brought Michael in and they woke me up. I was fairly ready to wake up by then (I had actually got quite a good nap in by this time with no interruptions) and I needed to eat. I warmed up a $1 alfredo meal and ate that shakily. I got it down though and that was good. Mike ate some leftover Chinese food and Michael had a Strawberry Jelly sandwich.

A little bit later Mike asked if we could go to Gamestop. He's been wanting an aviation game for a while, so I said we could go. We got there and looked around, I didn't find anything I wanted and Mike found 2 games. He got the games and when we left I mentioned food because I was shaky again. I mean all I'd had was  a dollar meal. So we started walking and then I said we needed to stop at Borders. We went in and I looked for a book, I found 2, one of them a pregnancy book called Belly Laughs. I'm really enjoying that one, it's about Jenny McCarthy's pregnancy. Well, not so much about her pregnancy as just about pregnancy in general, but there are tidbits of her personal experiences which makes it that much more fun to read. Mind you, I didn't even know she was a celebrity until she mentioned it in the book. I'm horrible with people and names.

After we left, I suggested we eat at California Pizza Kitchen, because it sounded good. There was a wait though, and Mike wasn't hungry. So, we walked over to Panera Bread. I wasn't sure if I really wanted it, but figured it wouldn't hurt, and I had to eat because I wasn't doing so well. Mike decided he should eat and we both got bread bowls with soup. I had Broccoli Cheddar and he had Clam Chowder. We shared some of our bread with Michael, but he wasn't too interested in it and shared half of his bread with the floor, and almost made it into someone's purse as well. Luckily that didn't happen. I was extremely happy with the food, because it calmed my stomach more than anything else has lately and I could kind of taste it, just enough to enjoy it.

I don't think I've told anyone yet what my stomach has felt like while I've been sick, and on and off other random times as well while being pregnant. I feel like anything that is in my stomach is just sitting there rotting. My stomach always feels sour because of it feeling like that. I hate it. Oh! I forgot to tell you, I ate a strawberry earlier today in hopes of it making me feel better because it was fresh fruit. Yeah, I couldn't taste it so my strawberry tasted like cold. It was pretty gross and I almost couldn't finish it, but I did.

Anyways, after Panera Bread, we came home and I started reading Belly Laughs. Then I got a text message from Rob asking me if it was okay if Mike played CoD tonight. I laughed at that. I had only wanted one night with Mike not on it so we could have a movie night, I normally don't mind if Mike plays CoD or not. It's his way of relaxing. I told him that I had no problem with it, to which he later responded "Wait, I thought Eric said you guys had plans." I read it to Mike and he reminded me that I had told Eric and Bry that they could come over and finish watching Burlesque. I was so out of it that I had totally forgotten, and Bry hadn't mentioned it at all in any of the text messages she had sent me today.  I picked up Michael's toys in the living room and had Mike change the litter box. He bagged up the litter to tell me we were out of litter, so I had to go buy some.

I rushed off to Wal-Mart by myself (because Bry and Eric would probably be at the house before I got back) and got some kitty litter. I also picked up some snacks just in case, but only Michael ate some of the snacks I bought for him. He ate one or two animal crackers. As I was getting to my car and putting everything in the passenger seat a lady came up and asked me if I wanted to buy some pixie sticks. I told her I didn't have any cash, but she didn't understand I continued. So I told her no and she left. Then another lady came up and asked me if I could help her out. She asked if I had any money or change. I told her I didn't have cash and she said, "Not even 2 quarters? If I had 2 quarters I could go buy a hamburger at least." I looked in the car for some change, but only had a nickel. While I looked she told me that she had asked some guy to buy her a hamburger but he had brushed her off. I gave her the nickel and apologized that I couldn't help her any more. She thanked me and went on her way. I started to leave, but turned towards the McDonalds that is in the same parking lot. I hopped in the drive-thru and figured I'd get her a hamburger and take it back to her. The person ordering though was taking forever and the lady had walked over to McDonalds and was asking for change in the parking lot, so I backed out and as she was leaving I called out to her and motioned her into the building. I told her I didn't have cash, but I could get her a burger. She nicely asked if she could maybe have a coffee  because it was so cold outside or maybe some fries and I told her yes. (Thinking of just getting her a meal) Well, when the lady at the register finally stopped running around like a chicken with her head cut off and came to help us (I think that at this McDonalds running around like a chicken with your head cut off is a requirement to work there... really I do. It's happened before!) I told the lady to go ahead and order. She ordered a coffee and a fry and looked at me and said, "It's only $1.94" I told her that was okay, and asked if that was all she wanted, I said, "Didn't you want a hamburger?" So she asked if she could get a cheeseburger too. I nodded and the cashier rang that up as well. It only cost me about $4 and I paid and left. I normally don't give people money when they ask, but she asked for food really so I figured I could buy her some food. I'm happy I did.

I hopped back in my car and headed home, once I got there I called Mike to tell him I was home and found out Bry and Eric were already there. Mike came down to get the kitty litter and after a little bit of talking once we were back inside, we finished the movie Burlesque. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Over all today was a pretty good day despite the GTT test and getting all that blood drawn. I guess feeling like crap most of the day was pretty sucky, but I can look past that to the fun times I had today. :)

Movie Night!

I have been wanting to have a "movie night" with Mikey for a little while now, but he always seems to make plans to play CoD before I pick him up from work. The last couple nights I've asked him after he had plans, so last night I asked him while we were in bed if I could have a movie night tonight. He laughed at me but told me yes.

So he bought some Xbox Live points and we rented Megamind off the 360. I made ramen for dinner while he was getting it all set up. Michael had a strawberry jelly sandwich and a bottle of milk. We started the movie and had a hard time hearing it a couple of times as Michael would play his little xylophone or ride his pony which sings, but he was super cute. Until a little over half way through the movie when he got really fussy and I knew it was time for him to go to bed. So I scooped him up and let Mike give him kisses then I plopped him in bed. He didn't fight it (he doesn't really fight it unless people are over) and I returned to the living room. Mike got a phone call while the movie was still paused and helped I believe Missy out with some computer issues. Then we continued our movie.

I LOVED the movie Megamind. I've been dying to see it for quite a while now, i.e. when it came out. This ended up being a great night! This might end up being a movie that I need to buy now. ;) Oh, also, I loved how Carbuncle (my male siamese cat) decided to curl up in my lap at the very end of the movie, you know where the credits are playing instead of anytime during the movie when he could have stayed in my lap for a long time.

One day out and One day in

 April 27-28, 2011

Yesterday, after taking Mikey to work at 12:45pm I decided to go out to eat at Coco's. I have a lot of little meals that I can make at home, but no fruit or salad at the moment. My stomach felt really off and I didn't want something warm, I wanted something fresh. Thus when I got to the restaurant I ordered my favorite Asian Chicken Salad.

Now, I'm still kind of sick and yesterday I could not breathe through my nose the majority of the day. Sometimes I'd get so backed up that I felt like I was suffocating when I swallowed. Needless to say, I couldn't smell my salad, nor could I taste it. I was so disappointed that I couldn't taste it. At least Michael was eating his side of fruit happily. I had ordered him a grilled cheese, and he ate a couple bites of it, but mostly just enjoyed his watermelon/honeydew/cantaloupe side plate. The salad though, did nothing for my unhappy stomach. I ended up only eating half of it and Michael barely touched his sandwich. The waitress asked if I wanted any boxes and was surprised when I said no. She wished me well and I left.

As I was putting Michael into his car seat I got a text message from Bry asking what I was doing. We ended up deciding to meet at the mall after her shower. While I waited  I looked around for some Mother's Day gifts, but didn't find anything that I really liked. Once she got there we walked around and looked in some stores. I had bought Michael a hat, and I also bought my blush to complete my make-up for my wedding.

After wandering for a while, we went to the food court and got some sodas, and I got Michael a cookie to snack on. Michael didn't want anything to do with the cookie and kept throwing any piece of cookie we handed to him. He was really fussy and wanted out of the stroller as well. I got up and washed his bottle off (which he had dropped earlier) and brought that back, but he threw that as well. So, I got up and bought him a yogurt from Subway. Walking back, I found a highchair. We stuck him in the highchair and he ate almost all of the yogurt. He was much happier after that as well.

Eric asked Bry to bring him some leftover spaghetti that they had, so Bry and I both drove to her house, and I drove her to Radio Shack to take Erick his food. She went in and Michael and I stayed in the car because he had fallen asleep. I told her to say hi to Mike for me. Suddenly Mike surprised me at my window, he had come out to say hi to me. I got a couple of kisses before he had to go back in. When Bry came back we went to Trader Joes.

I bought Michael some Whole Milk and I bought myself some strawberries, and Bry picked up some chicken. Then we went back to my place and hung out. I hadn't planned on going anywhere at all after dropping Mikey off at work so I had left on the AC. I'm so glad I did because it was so hot outside, and so nice inside. Michael ran around the living room while we talked. I still have my cough, and I coughed up some phlegm. That was all my body needed to be grossed out. I bolted to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet before I worshiped it in the darkness of the bathroom with the door open.

I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich just to put something back in my stomach, and Michael ate half a jelly sandwich too. I tried to put Michael down for a nap, but that didn't happen and Bry and I had already moved to the computer room so I brought him in there with us. I uploaded pictures from my camera finally, then we decided we needed to take belly pictures. I took Brys, and then she took mine.

Bry has a really cute baby belly right now. She's 20 weeks pregnant (and finds out the gender on Saturday!! :happy squeal for her:) and just too cute. My belly though, is really just jiggly fat. Seriously, it is. I've got this nice little muffin top going on, and my black tank top that I put on for the picture showed it off nicely. Now while Mike and I have begun noticing the difference in my body taking place, I don't believe any one else can yet. Anyways, these are my 11 week 1 day pregnant pictures:

See my muffin top? Ugh how gross. I've lost 7 lbs too! Below is a cuter picture at least.

We posted our pictures to Facebook, and then Bry's phone started going crazy with all the responses she was getting. I let her back on my computer so she could keep up with all the responses. I later hopped on Mikey's computer so we were both on one. Then we had to go pick up the boys. I found out Bry hadn't eaten since 10 this morning and I was starving. Always happy to hang out with friends I told her and Eric that I was taking them to Alberto's with us. Apparently Mikey had already eaten at work, but the three of us ate. Although Bry didn't feel good halfway through. I took them home, and then Mikey and I came home. I put Michael to bed because he hadn't really napped all day and he was exhausted. Mike had already made plans to play video games with Rob so I hopped on the computer and watched The Biggest Loser before we headed to bed.

Today has been pretty uneventful. Took Mikey to work at the same time and then came straight home to my air conditioned  apartment. Michael and I watched some cartoons, read some books, ate some food and now he's napping while I watched the latest Biggest Loser episode and now I type this.  I'm still stuffed up and still coughing, but I feel a lot better today than I have been feeling.

I also made my appointment for my Glucose Tolerance Test which will be tomorrow morning at 9:40 am. I am so not looking forward to that, let me tell you. I had two GTTs last pregnancy. With the GTT test you have to drink a small water bottle of this nasty liquid that tastes like a very very flat and thick soda. The first one I had was a fruit punch flavor, which I managed to get down. The second time I had it, it was lemon-lime flavor and I almost lost it several times while drinking it. You have to drink it in under 5 minutes, then wait an hour and then get your blood drawn. This is to make sure that you don't have gestational diabetes. I did not have GD last pregnancy and I certainly hope that I don't this time either. I am just absolutely dreading the GTT and I have a small hope that maybe they will have the fruit punch flavor. I'm even going to ask them if they do. I would hate to lose it all and then have to re-drink the nasty stuff. :shudders: Yuck. I've also heard that there is an orange flavored one, so I might even be willing to try that over the lemon-lime one if I can. My luck I'll have to drink the lemon-lime one. Enough rambling on this, I'm just making it worse for myself I'm sure.

Still Sick

April 26, 2011

So far today I've had a bad cough and stuffed up nose. Luckily though I can actually breathe through my nose a little bit, whereas last night I couldn't breathe through my nose at all. Our apartment is really hot and I'm considering turning on the AC at 11 in the morning even though it's only 61 degrees outside.  I can't wait to feel better.

This morning while Mike was in the shower, Michael and I got up and turned on the T.V. I switched it over to Disney channel and Enchanted was on. So Michael and I sat down and started watching that. Michael was actually interested, which he usually isn't. The most he will normally watch T.V. is when musical commercials come on, and we hadn't even got to a musical part of the movie yet. Then the T.V. froze and we couldn't watch it anymore.

I have a doctors appointment at 2:30 today so I'll type more later about the rest of today.

So, the doctors appointment that was at 2:30? I didn't get seen until a little after 3:30, apparently that's common there. It is a very small office though with only one OB/GYN so I guess that's why. I've lost 7 lbs since I've last been there 3 weeks ago. I think it is because of my being sick every single day though. Baby is doing good though and I got to see the baby (kind of.... er... barely) on the ultrasound.

She said that I can take Benadryl, Tyenol, and Robuttisen for my cold. I've taken all but the latter. Oh, she also said that cough drops could be taken.

Next appointment (May 10) I'm going to try and drag Mike in with me so we can hear the heartbeat. The only reason he wouldn't be able to go is because of work. So I've got my fingers crossed! :)

In Sickness ...

April 23, 2011

I'm sick and Michael is sick. He got his first fever with his sunburn after his birthday party, and while the fever is gone he has a cough and runny nose like I do. I called my mom and asked her if I could come up the mountain because I just couldn't take care of both of us by myself. Mike had work today. Mom and Dad also pulled out my old rocking horse for Michael and he loved it.

When I got home to pick Mike up from work we had to go grocery shopping. After that we were both hungry and I wanted french fries. It sounded good and I thought it would ease my sick stomach. I know, I know, not the healthy thing to eat, but hey when something actually sounds good? I'm gonna try it. I ate my french fries in the car on the way home, and Mike had some too. I had also bought him a burger which he ate. Once we parked I wasn't feeling too hot. As soon as I got out of the car I was in the bushes losing those french fries. That was not pleasant at all. Let's say that chunky french fries with no drink is not pleasant coming back up!

April 24, 2011

Well, you know you've got a good man when he puts up with your crap when you are sick. Mikey cleaned the kitchen for me today, which was a lot of work after Michael's birthday party. I am able to go into the kitchen without getting really sick at least!

I was sick all day anyways though, it sucks being pregnant and having a cold. Being pregnant drains you enough as it is, but having a cold where you can't breathe, have a horrendously sore throat and sore ears as well makes it all the worse. Especially since I took Benadryl which knocked me out. Sadly that meant it made it hard for Mike to clean because I couldn't watch Michael. I took some again later forgetting already that it knocked me out.

Bry and Eric came over too, Eric brought some stuff over for Mike to work on modding his older XBox.

April 25, 2011

Today I feel better than I did, but I still can't breathe and it's awful. Mike worked tonight and Michael and I made it through being home alone. After Mike got off work we went to Wal-Mart to pick up some medicines for us and when we got home I got sick again. All because I coughed up some phlegm. Nasty. Mike made dinner though, and now I'm exhausted after finally updating this blog! I'm going to go take some Benadryl and hope that I can breathe enough to go to sleep tonight!

Michael's First Birthday!

April 22, 2011

Lori and Missy arrived the night of April 14 late as their flight had been delayed. When they got here we went to T.G.I. Fridays and had a late birthday dinner for Michael. They brought him ice cream and we sang to him, since they don't sing there. It was too late for him to really enjoy anything though.

The next day, Missy and I went shopping at the mall while Mike worked and Lori got to watch Michael. I wasn't feeling all that hot, but I did my best not to let it show. We went to Torrid and got Missy a really cute bathing suit. It was very hard not to tell Missy I was pregnant. We ended up going swimming the next day I believe (Saturday) and had quite a bit of fun. Lori and Missy loved my bathing suit and asked where I got it. I told them Macy's, which wasn't true, I had bought it at Motherhood Maternity. Michael had a great time swimming and we even ended up in the hot tub for a little bit. That was nice because it was just warm and not hot. I knew if I started to get warm though I needed to get out. After we got out, I sat with Lori with my feet in the pool, while Mike and Michael chilled at a table and Missy lounged in a chair.

On April 17th, I had recruited Eric and Bry to come by the house early to help us take stuff to the party. They arrived at 10 am and we packed up (Mike and Eric packed up) the cars. We arrived at the park and proceeded to unload everything at a nice big covered picnic area. As I looked around I realized we were at the big area and I had reserved the smaller area so we had to move the stuff over. Luckily I told the guys before they had finished moving the coolers. We got everything moved, and then my parents showed up. The guys had everything already moved and we didn't really need to get there as early as we had. I thought set up was going to take a lot more time.

So I told Mom and Lori that I had something for them and handed them their little heart boxes from Brighton and let them open them. Once they were opened, I told them I'd be adding more charms in November. They nodded and exclaimed how pretty the charm bracelet was. Then I said that it would be a November birthstone, still no real response so I said, "I'm pregnant!" I got big smiles then and lots of excitement. I was glad to finally tell them!

Michael's first birthday was amazing, we all had so much fun! He ran around the park all day and got pretty sun burned which I felt horrible about, but with everything that we had been doing the sun block got left on our kitchen counter. Everyone got to chase Michael around at some point, and I think everyone had fun doing it too. Mom took Michael over by the little lake and they feed some ducks, Michael took some of the bread for himself too, it was pretty cute.

As everyone started to arrive, Mike and Eric got the grill set up and going. They made hamburgers and hotdogs, both veggie and real and they also made some brawtworst. It was a hit, but I wasn't able to eat but half of my burger.

After we ate we opened presents, but Michael was getting tired and fussy. We finished and then had cake. Michael got to get into his little cake first before we cut the big awesome dinosaur cake that Mikey made. When we handed Michael the cake we were going to sing happy birthday (it was too windy to even light the candle) but he got into it before we sang, so we all started singing. A couple of times he took bites straight out of the cake it was so cute! He also feed his new Rex toy from Toy Story some cake. This Rex toy "roars" when you squeeze it and his mouth opens, and Michael loved that he could feed him.

After that Michael got put in his stroller with a bottle and everyone had cake. The party was pretty much over then. It was a great first birthday! I wasn't feeling all that hot, but it wasn't that bad either which was nice.

Before Lori left for home (Missy went home the night of Michael's birthday) We all went to the little museum nearby. It was fun. We went to the gift shop and they had stuffed animal birds that had their real bird calls when you squeeze them. So I squeezed them until I found one that made Michael smile. It was a Wood Duck. He would pick a duck out of all the birds, he is his Daddy/Grandpa's boy and duck hunting partner!

Freezer Smells

April 13, 2011

Tomorrow Michael turns 1! I can't believe it. I am so exhausted all the time that I don't know what to do with myself. I was ready to pass out at maybe around 10pm tonight and before getting pregnant I'd be up until 2am easily. Yesterday morning I got sick, I opened the freezer and lost it immediately. Luckily I was able to make it to the bathroom, and I lost my tootsie pop, which I'm grateful I ate because puking didn't taste so bad. lol It's almost midnight now and I need to sleep, I just wanted to write a little blurb! Also Missy and Lori arrive tomorrow night and Mike cleaned out the fridge and freezer today. I can open the fridge without getting sick now, mostly haha.

Starting this blog

April 10, 2011

I started working on this blog today. All the previous entries were wrote down in word pad (and actually some to follow too). I wanted to start the blog and have it be funny and true all at the same time, I was going to draw little comics to go with it as well, but I just couldn't get anything to look like I wanted. Oh well.

Mens Day Out

April 03, 2011

Today, we went to visit my parents so Mike and my Dad could go fishing. We had to stop at Wal-Mart before meeting them at Red Robins and on the way out I actually got sick and had to run to the bathroom. It was horrible, since all I'd eaten so far was strawberry yogurt! Actually, before I got sick I had sneezed so hard that I gave myself the worst head ache I have ever felt. It was so bad I couldn't even see straight! Being sick though cured me of my headache and my queasy stomach.

I was afraid that when we got to Red Robin I wouldn't be able to eat anything, or stand the smell of the restaurant and thus give away the secret, but I was able to go in. We waited and got seated on the patio and I ordered a Chicken Ceaser Wrap with fries. I ate some of my wrap and wasn't really hungry for more, Mom noticed and I tried to brush it off, but I don't know how successful that was.

Later at the house when Mike and Dad had left and Raini had come home, Mom asked if Raini had shared the April Fool's joke with me yet. I was curious as he hadn't. Mom had told him I was pregnant again and that she hoped it was a girl. I looked at Raini and told him that Mom was ready for another one because she didn't have to chase Michael around all the time. I didn't say anymore on the matter haha. I can't wait to finally tell everyone! Not that I don't say that everytime I type something I'm sure. So 7 weeks and 5 days before any real morning sickness isn't that bad. I didn't get a nap today though and I am exhausted.

I've been taking naps when Michael takes his nap just so I can make it through the days!

Been a while

March 27, 2011

A lot has happened since I last wrote anything down. I'm getting married May 29th at Edwards Mansion. I can't believe it is finally going to happen! I have my dress, and the whole get up and I'm not showing it to Mikey until I walk down the aisle! I'm hoping that will make it all the more special for him. :)

Getting my dress was so much fun! Mom and I saw a David's Bridal and went in just to look. We ended up finding out we had to make an appointment, and luckily they had an opening a little later that day. We pulled some dressed, and then came back for the appointment. The consultant helped me in and out of dresses while Mom sat with Michael and waited. I showed each dress off and Mom took lots of pictures. I loved a couple of them and was having a hard time figuring out which one I would want, until the last dress. It was a very simple dress and the consultant said that after all the dresses I tried on, that this one might seem like a prom dress. As soon as it was on though, I knew it was the one. It fit perfectly and it was so comfortable. We ended up buying that one, it won't even need any alterations! Actually I bought the whole shebang!

I have been horrificly naseauted lately and I hate it. I would love to not be sick like I am, but am thankful that I am not nearly as sick as I was last pregnancy. I'm 6 weeks 5 days pregnant and have not yet actually been sick which I'm thankful for.

Yesterday my cousin Kellie got married and she looked gorgeous! It was so hard to not tell people there that I was pregnant, especially since I was very sick. I did however get to tell some people about my wedding.

Today Bry and I went shopping and had a lot of fun looking at baby stuff at Babies 'R' Us.

First Appointment

Mike was home all day today and after Michael played hard and fell asleep, I left them to go to the doctors for my first doctors appointment. I went in to the same place that Bry does and asked for a pregnancy test. They confirmed that I was pregnant, and then had to draw some blood. They only drew 3 vials of blood, but afterward my fingernails turned blue. The nurse and I both thought it was strange, and I was freezing. The room itself was freezing. I told the doctor and she didn't seem worried. She did both a breast and pelvic exam and everything was normal. Then she did an ultrasound, and we couldn't find anything. I was so surprised that she was doing an ultrasound at 5 weeks.  I wasn't surprised that we couldn't see anything, I remember how tiny Michael was when I was 11 weeks pregnant with him. I kind of wish we could have seen something though, that would have been exciting! Oh well, next time!

After the doctor's appointment (which it took them well over an hour to call on me to even find out why I was there!!!!) I went next door to Bry's Del Taco and got the Taco Tuesday 3 tacos for $1.09. I needed something so I didn't pass out on the way home and that did the trick.

After I made dinner (stir fry with only green/red/yellow peppers, onions, pineapple, mushrooms and meat - no rice) I felt sickish. Mike said that I always feel this way after I get my blood drawn. I can't remember, but I never can.

I'm still trying to come up with a cute way to tell our parents that there is another baby on the way! I cannot wait to tell them I am so excited!

My little one is now 11 Months old!

March 14, 2011

My little Michael is 11 months old today! How time flies!

Yesterday Lori called me to tell me that they had a surprise for the wedding, but she wanted to talk to my mom first. She ended up calling me back later to let me know that my Mom had planned the same thing for us. All I know is that Mikey and I are getting a night/day to ourselves for a mini honeymoon! Who knew? I'm excited that's for sure.

Also, last night we had our BBQ. We had Bry, Eric and Rob all over and we ate Ribs, Kebabs, Potato Salad, Fruit Salad and Corn. Can you say Mmmm? After dinner we had shakes, but in order to make the shakes Mike and our blender had to get into a fight. Basically the blender decided it was done and wouldn't even make one shake, so Mike had to shake it up and down while it was blending in order to get us all shakes. It was special... truly it was.

So back to today! After dropping Mikey off at work, Michael and I headed over to Bry and Eric's house. Bry and I have been talking about getting together weekly and walking. So this was our first outing. We walked to a park not far from their apartment complex and walked around a little bit before getting Michael out of the stroller to swing. Then we let Michael play in the grass and around a tree, he had a blast. It was nice to let Eric chase him around ;) When it was time to leave the park, instead of walking straight back the way we had come, Eric lead Bry and I around the neighborhood first. Probably because we didn't really do much walking like we had planned on.

It's almost 8pm now and I'm extremely tired. I'd like to nap, but if I nap I won't be picking Mikey up and I'm sure he'd like to come home from work!

Going to the Chapel and...

March 12, 2011

That's right folks! Mike and I decided that the next time his family could make it down here to So. Cal to visit (they live in Nor. Cal) that we would get married. We're past due on this whole marriage thing with a one year old already and another on it's way. Let's get this ball rolling!

So I called Mikes parents and told them about our plan and asked when they thought they would be able to make it. John (Mikes Dad) said he should be able to make it down at the end of May, so I'm hoping that I'll be married by the end of May! How exciting!

Today I also took one more gender prediction thing online. This time it said the baby was going to be a boy. I checked to see what it told me that Michael would've been and it said he was going to be a boy as well. So again just for fun, we'll have to see how these silly little things go.

Three Days Knowing

March 11, 2011

I've known I was pregnant for three days now. Morning sickness is hitting me in small waves of nausea. I'm hoping that this pregnancy will be easier and will have a lot less morning sickness in it.

Last Pregnancy:

 My Body- You're pregnant!
 Me- Yay!
 My Body - Mwahahaha!
Me - What's with the evil laughter?
*BAM!* Suddenly hit with horrendous morning sickness!

It really was evil, and I really was hit hard with morning sickness right away. Luckily so far I feel pretty great.

So Bry and I hung out all day today, we ran all around doing errands. While waiting for Erics phone to get fixed at Sprint we ate at the mall and as I was getting Michael's stroller out of the trunk I found a brand new never been opened eyeliner from Sephora that I had wanted. I was amazed it hadn't been run over or anything, not even unwrapped yet.

At some point we ended up at Wal-Mart and I started feeling bad. I got a kids meal and managed to eat it slowly, then Bry and I went to my house. Bry offered to pick up the guys, which was sweet and they all came over and hung out for a while after. We also found out that the work schedule had been re made and Mike now has to work on Sunday. We all had plans to BBQ on Sunday and his boss knew that. We were a little peeved, but the store closes at 7 on Sundays so we still have time to BBQ.

Just For Fun

 March 10, 2011

This morning I took another pregnancy test just to confirm that I was pregnant, and that I didn't have a false positive somehow. Of course it came back positive as well.

Last night after Mike had got off of work, we stopped by Food 4 Less and I found some Gummy Prenatals. This is big for me, because last time around I could not swallow those giant horse pills. Okay so until recently I couldn't swallow any pills... I even gagged on one last pregnancy at In N Out with a mouth full of Coca Cola and spewed it and the soda all over the table. I made poor Missy sick.

So for fun, I played around with the Chinese Gender Prediction chart and it predicts this baby will be a boy. Well, for reference last time around it said Michael would be a girl ;) so good thing I don't believe in these or Old Wives Tales (owt).

Just one more thing to document, a while back I had a dream that I had another boy, and then I had a little girl. It will be interesting to see how accurate that dream is/was. Again, this is mostly just for fun as well.

It was just a dream, wasn't it?

March 08, 2011

My soon to be Mother In Law (MIL) Lori called me to tell me about my soon to be Brother In Law (BIL) getting into the Army. Now I will be honest and I will tell you right now, I had no idea what she was talking about when she told me, because she gave me specifics and I really know nothing about the Army. She explained it to me, (Congrats Matt!) and then we talked about other things.

Then, randomly out of the blue? She told me she had a dream last night about how I had another little boy, with dark hair instead of red hair (my son has red hair). I asked her if that meant she thought I was pregnant and she told me that she didn't think so. She said that Michael looked like he was about three or four years old in her dream. I reminded her that most people who met Michael thought he looked like he was at least a year and a half already and he was only ten months. She reassured me that he was three or four years old in her dream though. I laughed and told her that it sounded good to me, that I wanted another little one around then anyways.

March 09, 2011

My period is a day and a half late. A day late, normal, a day and a half late might be normal too, but I'm way to impatient to find out! After the phone call from MIL Lori and my previously randomly deciding to look at my estimated due date just for fun, I decided to take a home pregnancy test (hpt). Okay, so I had been extremely tired lately and my boobs were really sore as well... So at 3:25 pm I took the hpt and quickly shoved it back in the little wrapper it came in. For this test, you had to wait 2 minutes for results, and were not supposed to look at it after 10 minutes. So, when the 2 minutes were up I looked and saw a really faint second line! Almost anyone you ask will say that a line is a line, and I had a line!

Think back to yesterday's conversation with my MIL:
-MIL - Daughter In Law Guess what?
   -Me - What?
   -MIL - You're Pregnant!!
   - Me - :jaw draw: Oh my gosh I am!

Sometimes, it feels like that's how it went, really!

So now what do I get to do? I get to tell Mike that his Mom was right, that she will be seeing another grand-baby in her future soon. What better way to tell your honey bunny that you are pregnant again than popping the surprise while he's showering. Michael was chilling in his crib, so I sneaked into the bathroom where Mike was and let him know. Let's just pretend it went like this:

-Me - "Hey Mikey? I have a great idea for your birthday this year!"
   -Mike- "Oh?"
-Me- "Let's have a party in the Labor and Delivery room 2 days later!"
   -Mike- "Oh!"

Really though, he said he had a feeling I was pregnant again. Aside from being a little concerned financially, he said that babies are blessings. Then he had to go to work. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to "Complain" to Eric about it as Eric could understand because his wife Bry is also pregnant.

Of course, as soon as I found out he told Eric, I had to tell Bry! It is so exciting to have someone I know in person to be pregnant with at the same time! Granted she's about 2 months farther along than I am, we are both all kinds of excited. Of course, since Mike and Eric work together and would be talking about it, it was only fair to tell our other friend and their co-worker Rob that we were also pregnant.

There was one more person I had to tell. This one was a little bit harder, because she is one of my Mom's best friends and naturally I would rather tell my Mom first and let her spread all the wonderful news, but I have Fibromyalgia and have had a prescription for it for almost a year. So I had to message her and ask her if I could still take the medicine, (I stopped taking it as soon as I found out and she replied the next day) and she told me I needed to stop because it was a Class D medicine. The wonderful thing though, since getting pregnant again (The pain started not long after giving birth last year) is that the pain has actually gone away. I don't know how, and I don't know why, but I'm grateful not to be dealing with the pain.
